My family moved to Fremont in 1997, and Fremont Public Schools had been an important part of my life ever since. I attended Milliken Park Elementary School, what was then Fremont Junior High School, and Fremont Senior High School, graduating in 2006, Cum Laude with High Distinction. During high school, I was honored to be voted Best Girl Citizen of my graduating class, an experience that reflected the importance I placed on leadership, service, and involvement in my school and community.

I went on to attend Midland Lutheran College, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010, graduating Cum Laude. Throughout my education and career, I have always had a passion for academic achievement, community involvement, and helping and serving others.

My commitment to serving my community began during my school years through involvement in various activities and clubs and continued after college through my local church. From 2010 to 2020, I served on several committees, including the festival planning committee, parish council, and Hispanic Council. I also had the privilege of being a leader for a group called Young Adults for Christ. These experiences taught me the importance of service, leadership, teamwork, and bringing people together for the good of the community.

In 2021, I became a member of the Board of Directors of the Fremont Public Schools Foundation. For the past five years, I have been honored to serve students, teachers, and our community through the Foundation. I have served as treasurer and currently serve as vice president. I also serve as president of the Grant PTA, where I have the opportunity to advocate for students, support teachers and families, and be directly involved in my children's school community.

Professionally, I am a registered nurse and have dedicated my entire nursing career to burn and wound care. I began my career at St. Elizabeth in Lincoln, working in the inpatient burn unit, and have spent the past 15 years at the Methodist Fremont Wound Center. During that time, I have helped hundreds of patients heal from serious burns and wounds. It has been incredibly rewarding to see patients overcome difficult circumstances and regain their health and quality of life.

I have grown professionally within the Wound Center, beginning as a staff nurse, advancing to Clinical Nurse Manager, and now serving as Program Director. In my current role, I have helped lead significant improvements and initiatives, and our center has received national recognition for the quality of work we do. I am incredibly proud of my team and the difference they make for patients every day. This year, I am also honored to receive the Nebraska Nurses Association's 40 Under 40 recognition for leadership, vision, and contributions to nursing in Nebraska.

My greatest source of pride, however, is my family. I am happily married to my husband, Jose Manrique Flores, who has been incredibly supportive of me and all of the things I take on. I am grateful to have him by my side. We have four children in our family: my 19-year-old stepdaughter, Ingrid, who graduated from Fremont High School in 2025 and now attends Midland University; my 15-year-old daughter, Jasmin, who attends Fremont High School; my 12-year-old daughter, Jackie, who attends Fremont Middle School; and my 8-year-old son, who attends Grant Elementary. Having children at different stages of the Fremont Public Schools system gives me a unique perspective on the experiences and needs of students and families throughout our district.

I am incredibly grateful to Fremont Public Schools for helping shape me into the person I am today. I want to give back to the district that has given so much to me and help ensure that future generations of students have the same opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.

I am running for the Fremont Public Schools Board because I believe in our students, our teachers, and our community. I want to help make sure our schools continue to prepare students for the future while supporting the educators and families who make that success possible.

I hope to bring the perspective of a former Fremont student, a parent with children in the district, a working mother, a healthcare leader, a community volunteer, and a member of the Hispanic community. I understand what it is like to have a lot on your plate while simply wanting the very best for your children. I understand the importance of strong schools, dedicated teachers, responsible leadership, and a community that works together.

Most importantly, I am ready to listen, serve, and work hard for the students and families of Fremont. I would be honored to have the opportunity to serve our community on the Fremont Public Schools Board.
